Hot tips
Try and beat the heat and get moving early in the morning or later in the afternoon.
Don’t forget to slip, slop, slap, slide and seek to protect yourself and your loved ones from our summer sun.
Invite a friend to join you for the activity; it can be a great way to catch up, enjoy moving your body and keep you both accountable.
Remember to keep hydrated!
We like to move it, move it! So much so, here’s some inspiration on where you can get out and about in the Bendigo region this summer.
Whether you’re enjoying some time off this summer, looking for a way to enjoy the warm weather in the early hours or lingering sun after work, there are lots of places you can get moving in the Greater Bendigo region.
This top 5 list features in Health Promotion’s physical activity guide which we’re excited to say will launch in early 2026.

If you don’t know where to begin, or need help as your fitness level progresses, check out Healthy Loddon Campaspe’s fitness training programs for outdoor fitness equipment. They have beginner, intermediate and advanced fitness programs using the fitness equipment available at Kangaroo Flat and Long Gully. They even have a bonus program for any outdoor space, no equipment needed.
2. Long Gully Splash Park
Grab a picnic and some towels and head down to the Long Gully Splash park to cool off. The park is great for little ones, with a zero-depth splash park and heated water, and accessible to all, with no steps to the play area. The park is checked daily by Belgravia staff.
There are toilets, changing areas, shaded seating areas, BBQs and picnic tables. The water runs from 9 am to 8 pm from December to March.
