Our Health Promotion team is ready for a big Mental Health Month of sharing the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’. This beautifully simple checklist introduces ways to improve your psychological and emotional health, based on extensive international research.
A healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body for your overall wellbeing. Like physical fitness, you can strengthen your psychological health in lots of small day-to-day ways.
The 5 Ways to Wellbeing can lead to improved mental health. They are:
Take notice of your thoughts and feelings, use your five senses to become mindful of what’s around you.
Set yourself a new challenge. Learn something new or rediscover an old interest.
Helping others can boost happiness and life satisfaction. Anything from giving a smile to volunteering.
Connect with those around you. Socialising with people and developing strong relationships contributes to good health and wellbeing.
Start simple, find physical activities that you enjoy. Being active keeps your body and your mind working well.

16th October – Lunchtime Jams @ Hargreaves Mall (12pm – 2pm)
18th October – FREE Funloong Fun Day @ Hargreaves Mall (11am – 2pm)
14th – 20th October – National Nutrition Week (The theme this year is ‘Inspiring a connected and nutritious Australia’!)
24th & 25th October – Bendigo Agricultural Show (times to be announced)
26th October – The Bloomin Good Market @ Rosalind Park (10am – 2pm)
31 Days to Workplace Wellbeing Competition 2025
We have invited local workplaces to join our 31 Days to Wellbeing Competition so they can showcase how they encourage wellbeing within their workplaces!
We will be looking out for their social media posts throughout the month and will choose a winner in November who will win a fully catered staff lunch!
Here was the winner for 2024!
We loved their creativity in looking after their staff through furry friends and a staff garden!
Cuppa ’Give’ Initiative
We are bringing back our ’give’ initative this year to partner with 10 local coffee shops across Greater Bendigo, to give out a free cuppa every day of October for a total of 310 given out across the month! We would like to thank the following coffee shops for working with us this year:
