Our community health nurses staff the Sexual Health Clinic at 165-171 Hargreaves Street in Bendigo from 9am to 5pm weekdays and 3 Seymoure Street in Eaglehawk between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Wednesday.

The clinic is open to males and females of any age.

No referral is needed and there is no cost.

Is the clinic confidential?

Yes, our Sexual Health Clinic is confidential and all our services are covered by privacy laws.

What is the cost of attending the Sexual Health Clinic?

There is no charge for an appointment at our Sexual Health Clinic. Some procedures may have a minimal cost but please speak to our staff if this is a concern for you.

Can I see a female or male staff member for my appointment?

Yes, we have both male and female health professionals supporting the Sexual Health Clinic from our Women’s Health Clinic and Men’s Health Clinic.

I had unprotected sex and I’m worried I could have an STI?

Our Sexual Health Clinic tests for all blood borne viruses and sexually transmittable infections. We want you to be well and healthy so please don’t be shy. An STI test is simple and very effective. Can I get contraceptive advice?

Our Sexual Health Clinic staff can talk to you about different forms of contraception available, how each works and which one is best for you. We can provide emergency contraception.

Do you provide free condoms?

Yes, free condoms are available in the reception areas of our sites at 165-171 Hargreaves Street in Bendigo, 75 Mitchell Street and 19 Helm Street in Kangaroo Flat.

What if I’m pregnant?

The Sexual Health Clinic can provide testing, support and advice for both planned and unplanned pregnancies. Giving you all the facts needed to make an informed choice about your health and wellbeing is important to us.

Does the clinic support the LGBTIQ+ community?

Inclusion is important to our Sexual Health Clinic. We work hard to make sure our clinic is inclusive and safe for everyone.

Our clinic provides access to anti-HIV medication PrEP.

My period cycle is irregular. Is this normal for women?

Periods should never interfere with or control your life. Please come in and talk to one of our Sexual Health Clinic staff if you have any questions or concerns about your period cycle.

Can I get free sanitary products?

We have a Share The Dignithy #PinkBox machine at our Central site at 165-171 Hargreaves Street dispensing free pad and tampon packs. Sanitary products are available free at our Kangaroo Flat site when we have donated supplies too.

Men's Health Clinic

Our Men’s Health Clinic helps men to better understand and manage their own health needs. Some of the services provided are annual check-ups, health assessments, information and support. 

The Men’s Health Clinic operates from our Central site at 165-171 Hargreaves Street each Tuesday. The clinic is staffed by a men’s health nurse practitioner. The Men’s Health Clinic is bulk billed and bookings are essential.

Meningococcal C and hepatitis vaccines

Besides all the sexual and general health services offered through the sexual health clinic, we can provide the free meningococcal C and hepatitis vaccines. Please call us on 5406 1200 for more information on these.

Women's Health Clinic

Our Women’s Health Clinic runs from our Bendigo site. The clinic provides information on a range of women’s health issues including sexual and contraceptive health and menopause. 

The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and provides clinical services such as pregnancy testingpap screening, breast checks and insertion of IUDs. Our services are provided by female general practitioners and nurses. The clinic is open to all ages. There may be a minimal cost. Phone 5406 1200 to book an appointment.
