The generous staff at PETstock Bendigo have shed new light on a fish tank dilemma facing our Early Childhood Intervention Services team based at the kidzspace building in Kangaroo Flat.
The ECIS team uses a fish tank as part of their work with families of children aged up to six who may have a disability, autism or a developmental delay.
The children attend regular group sessions to help them with social skills, active play, emotional regulation and school readiness.
A huge part of the routine for the children when they arrive at group is to greet and ‘monitor’ the fish in the ‘special’ ECIS fish tank.
The tank is also part of a therapeutic process for children needing time away from the group to settle with the fish providing a calming space.
So when the old fish tank light gave up the ECIS team faced a bit of a dilemma.
Enter PETstock Bendigo.
When management and staff at the Hattam Street PETstock store heard of our plight they produced a new light without hestitation.
We can't thank everyone at PETstock enough for ensuring the fish tank is now back up and running perfectly and once again supporting the young children we are helping.
Thank you all!
Oh, we do so like your PETstock corporate colour too!
