If you wish to see a Doctor or the Practice Nurse you will need to make an appointment by 
calling 5434 4330.  Urgent medical issues are given priority. 
Please let the receptionist know if you think you may require a longer appointment to be made.

Clinic Hours
Medical Practice hours are from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Our doctors work varying hours, 
so please contact reception on 5434 4330 for further information. We provide a Men’s Health Clinic from 4pm – 8pm on Tuesdays and a Women’s Health clinic from 4pm – 7pm on Wednesdays.
 

After hours / Weekend arrangements
In case of a medical emergency after hours, please call the Emergency Department at Bendigo Health (hospital) on 5454 8100 or call 000 for an ambulance. In case of general medical care after hours, please contact the Primary Care Clinic on 5441 8622.

Home visits
If you are too sick to come to the Medical Practice, the doctors may attend you at home.
Requests for home visits can be made and will only be confirmed after discussing the problem directly with the doctor. 

Costs
The Medical Practices at Eaglehawk and Kangaroo Flat provides bulk-billing services, however the Central Medical Practice charges a minimal gap fee.  Your Medicare card will be required on the day of your appointment. 
 
Recall register
Patients can register on our recall systems to be reminded that regular checks are due 
(e.g. Pap smear or immunisation). This can be arranged by request to our reception staff.

Your rights as a user of the service
Bendigo Community Health Services complies with the Victorian Information Privacy Act in protecting your privacy and adopts the Bendigo Loddon Primary Care partnership Consumer Charter of Rights. A copy of these rights is displayed in the medical practice.
 
All patient consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential as per the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic). 

All clients have the right to:
Request a transfer of care or obtain a second opinion.
Have an advocate (friend, family member and/or translator) present when receiving a service.
Decline any advice, information or treatment options given to you by professional staff and be fully 
informed of the consequences of that decision.
 

Your feedback is important to us
We encourage patients to comment on any aspect of our service. A suggestion box is located in the Medical Practice for your confidential comments.
 
If you have a complaint, we would encourage you to discuss it directly with the doctor or practice nurse.  If your complaint is unresolved or in relation to your doctor/practice nurse, you may either request to see the Practice Manager or put your complaint in writing and send it to the 
Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 1121, Bendigo  VIC  3552.
 
If your complaint is still unresolved, you are able to contact the Health Services Commissioner, the Australian Medical Association or the Medical Board of Victoria.
