Alcohol and Drug Services

Alcohol & Drug (A&D) Services are provided to adults and young people who have alcohol
and other drug use problems.  They may require treatment and support services to effect and
maintain change, assistance in controlling their drug use, or support to reduce the
harms associated with drug use. These services are also designed to meet the needs of
families and significant others of clients of A&D services.

Provision of information, direct service delivery or appropriate referral to other programs
or agencies, ensures access to appropriate A&D services.  BCHS services are physically
accessible to all clients and located close to public transport.  A number of our services
offer an outreach or home based option.  BCHS aims to create a seamless treatment
pathway for clients by working closely with other service providers within both the local
area and the Loddon Mallee health region. These linkages assist workers to provide
coordinated care for clients to access appropriate services through interagency
protocols, direct communication and liaison.
